Weaving on the loom

Weaving on the loom, there are different looms set up within the textiles workshop, each having different coloured warps and different set ups. At this point within the project we're just beginning to get used to the loom and how it works, experimenting with different yarns and different patterns that we can create within our weave. My first weave I created is on the loom that has the cream, pink and red coloured yarn as the warp, I then used a mixture of cream, blue, yellow and pink pastel coloured yarns for the weft, I was focusing on the choice of colour working due to there being three different colours within the warp, I think all these colours work well together as it doesn't create a messy look/pattern, I used the plain weave pattern and tried out a couple other patterns to see how they'd turn out. This was my first attempt at weaving and I really enjoyed it and what it could produce and slightly reflect; reflecting the 'block' shapes that the riverside flats have.

Moreover, within the next week I created another two weaves, the first one being on a white warp loom which I enjoyed producing as white looks good with any colour due to it being so neutral and enabled me to produce a weave purely represented by my colour scheme of pastel colours, I like the delicate look of this weave (reflecting my sketchbook work of thin, delicate line). The other weave I have produced is a red and black coloured warp and is on an 8-shaft loom, this means it can create a different variety of pattern, I stuck to a specific pattern for this weave which I think worked successfully however the pattern nor the colours link to my work but it was still enjoyable in the way that I was able to experiment with a different type of loom.
