Sketchbook Development

I’ve carried on with using a range of medias; paints, pastels, highlighters, fine liners and coloured paper for collage. Looking at textures and patterns in my ‘urban environment’ images of brick walls, pavements, houses etc I have done quick sketches of these using these different media’s, cutting these up to create collages. I have kept to this style throughout my sketchbook so far as it enables me to use an abstract way of working which is what I most enjoy. Also creating knitting samples using a few different knitting strategies and matching the colour to the colour scheme used on my sketchbook pages, I feel that sticking these small samples into my book enables me and any viewer to see how my sketches and collage would look like as an actual fabric, I feel that this creates a visual development.
I’ve used a layering style as well as collage, placing textured paper I’ve previously created in a collages layout, then cutting up shapes of coloured paper and then layering this with textures and patterns using pastels and pens. I feel that I’ve used quite a messy style which isn’t what I usually use and is out of my comfort zone, however has worked for me and enables me to develop my work and create a range of pages in this style.
So far within my project I feel that the context would be best suited as interior design due to preferring this side of design compared to fashion but also because these could create interesting throws, cushions and wall hangings. And although it’s not apart of interior design, jewellery could also be an interesting aspect of knitting. These images below are taken from Pinterest boards I've created to help find inspiration and relate to the types of products that could be developed from my work: (website addresses attached).
