An artist/designer I have found within looking for inspiration is Ruth Adler Schnee, who was 'born on May 13 1923, in Frank hurt, Germany', Ruth Adler Schnee's mother was called Marie Adler and she studied calligraphy at the Bauhaus and was also good friends with Paul Klee (artist) who 'provided Schnee with training in the arts when she was a young girl'. Due to the context of this time the Nazi regime within Germany led their family to flee to America. Adler then started school's within Detroit, graduating, leading to receiving fellowships and full scholarships within art. She excelled within her work and career, founded businesses, creating designs and products.

Schnee's work has always been based on nature and abstract styles, she's now 94 and still producing work and creating new designs, 'working out of her home studio in her Oakland County condominium, she's designing upholstery fabrics and wall coverings for both Anzea Textiles and for Knoll Associates.' Despite her age, and length of textiles career she's still pursuing her talent of design and weave, this is inspiring and proves that there are so many different products and designs you can create.

Moreover, looking at her work and patterns, this is the main aspect that's inspired me within my sketchbook as I enjoy creating abstract styled work, similar to Schnee.

I really like these designs and the completely different styles, the top image being more detailed with smaller shapes, whereas the bottom one being more simplistic and large and also colourful. These designs have inspired me that there is so much you can do with abstract design and placing colours together, Ruth Schnee's work has inspired me and also her background of being forced out of her own country but still pursues her passion and talent to a very high degree.
