Developing sketchbook work

Within my sketchbook I have kept to the same theme and ideas of tea pots and plants, merging these two ideas together. I've used the same style throughout my sketchbook but experimented with colour and composition for each page, I feel I have produced an amount of work that has helped me so far with developing my digital work and textile samples. The main aspect I have been looking at within my work is colour, to begin with looking at the tea pots that I've studied they were mainly pinks and blues, then when looking at the fabrics and actual plants there were more yellows, oranges, greens and different shades of pinks, I've tried to incorporate all of these colours within my work and has enabled me to experiment with colour mixing, and placing different colours together to see which looks most successful. One thing I feel I could improve within my sketchbook would be to experiment more with media and materials, I feel held back when focusing on this aspect of working as I always stick to my same style of clean and neat work which sometimes can look quite sparse and boring.
Although these lack background colour and texture, I still feel the use of bold, vibrant colours merged onto one page makes them look exciting and creates a new perception of tea pots and flowers that you see in a cabinet or on a piece of cloth, merging them together using bright colours seems to produce an exciting feeling to the work. For these designs I've used watercolour, oil pastel, pen, highlighter and coloured tapes to create layers and compositions, placing my drawings on top or within these.
