Digital Design for Hybrid project

We had previously been introduced to digital design, using photoshop or illustrator to enable us to use shapes and to scan in our own drawings to create designs that link to our work, we have been shown how to duplicate the image to create a pattern, to change colour of our design, to place our designs onto objects and products. These introductions to digital design have helped me to become more confident in making digital work and experimenting with this technique, I have had previous experience using illustrator, therefore I've created most of my designs using this as I find it easier to create work. The images above show how I've created my work, scanning my drawings in, changing the colours to suit my colour scheme then making these into patterns using shapes, coloured backgrounds etc.

Some of the digital designs I have created don't match exactly to my project with colour and layout, however I've created a series of designs so that I could experiment with the colour and composition aspect of my work. I've enjoyed playing around with the size and layout of patterns, just by changing the colour of a pattern or of it's background can make a huge difference and this is what I've found interesting, changing it the smallest bit can make it look completely different.

These tea pot designs I have drawn the teapot with a flower first then also scanned in my tulip drawings and placed them over this to create the layered effect I've been using within my sketchbook, I think these work well and I've been able to experiment with the size and layout of pattern in each of these, I feel like the left design looks slightly more successful than the other because it's quite simple but also interesting.
