During week 2 of year 2, we started the week off with a briefing, a new section of the project, this being an individual project, based on promoting well-being through textile design, we were given a presentation of this giving us information and ideas, I came up with a few initial ideas that I can develop for my project, this being on a separate blog post. (on the promoting well being page).
Moreover, we had a print and dye workshop, where we were introduced to acid dyes, these are only used to print onto silks and wools, silk twill is what we're printing on for our repeat pattern final length. To make our chosen colours lighter for acid dyes we have to just add the acid paste to make the colour paler, instead of adding white dye, for every dye colour we want, we have to accurately measure this out so that when we want this colour again, we know the exact measurements. This workshop was helpful as it was a refresher for print and dye and gave us instructions of the rules for acid dyes and how to use them.

On the 4th of October, Aviva Leigh, a slow-stitch artist came in to give us a workshop on this 'slow-stitch' movement, this is basically hand-stitching fabric and thread onto other fabric, this was quite a relaxing technique as you're purely focused on stitching, however I feel it's a difficult technique to develop and experiment a lot with, more information about this workshop is on a separate blog post.
When I got home, I experimented with photoshop as I have struggled to use this, I looked online at videos and done some research to figure out how to place a pattern onto an object, e.g. an interior product, I got the hang of this technique and experimented with it onto different objects.
