Creating designs with illustrator and photoshop

Within my sketchbook I have been experimenting and filling my books with sketches and designs based on healthy foods, mainly being fruit and vegetables, from this I have drawn out two designs on separate pieces of paper, one being of fruit and the other vegetables, scanned this into my laptop and played around with them on photoshop, changing the colours, once I had done this I copied every drawing individually into illustrator to place it into a group to create a design, I then made this into pattern, playing around with the order of the pattern and the size.
These are my first outcomes of this design:
For the background I copied and paste images of fruit and vegetables into the document, using the 'eyedropper' tool I clicked on a piece of fruit and it gave me the exact colour of it so I could use this within my design and background colours. I am pleased with these designs as I feel the colours match well together and create an exciting, warm image, therefore reflecting a positive message to the target audience; children, seeing healthy foods as a fun, bold print would encourage them and persuade them to have more of a positive view of vegetables and fruits. However, I do feel that I could add more of a range of foods into my designs, not just purely fruit and vegetables, or even creating a design that features them both, this is what I'd like to do in order to develop my designs.
