Today I drove to Morag's and we started off by having coffee and jotting down a plan for the day so we knew what we were doing, the first job was to drive to site (Morston) and my job there was to measure the bathrooms, then we had to meet Barry from a property management company, and then we were suppose to go to the kitchen place, however, because of the meeting we weren't able to.

I measured up the two bathrooms, measuring these in cms, I measured from wall to wall then measured window frames and door frames and jotted these down onto paper so we could then transfer this into realistic measurements on paper. Furthermore, we headed to Holt, I collected some paint sample booklets that we took to show Barry, as he wants Morag to sort out colour schemes and tiles for the house in Holt. We met him in a cafe and Morag discussed the job with him, what she offers and what he wants, he then showed her the plans for the house which is going to be an 'upside down' house, (living room upstairs, bedroom downstairs.) We went to have a look at the building as it was only round the corner so that we could see it in person and visualise what would suit this space, Morag explained to me how she would choose colours and on which walls she would put these. This was really interesting to be able to see the beginning of a job and how Morag approached this.

Lastly, we went to the carpet shop in Holt to sort out details with the carpet fitter about the London job as they're going to site to fit the carpets next week. We then headed back to Morag's office to work out what phone calls and e-mails we needed to make as we hadn't had a chance throughout the day. This whole day taught me loads of different things, it enabled me to physically measure up a couple rooms which was experience for if I had to do this for a company or for myself. Morag uses a certain approach to people, treating them exactly the same, how she spoke to me, she spoke to Barry, builders, electricians etc. I think this is a good way to be as you shouldn't pretend to be someone else, just to get on with the job, and how you are can appeal to people and help promote your work and make them want you to do more work for them. (Barry came straight back to Morag saying he's looking forward to working with her.)
