Hunter is a 'heritage' brand, this meaning that the company will have a story about how they were founded and use this to describe their company and to connect further with consumers by having a specific meaning. Although some companies find it hard to keep this 'heritage' title, Hunter have progressed positively in keeping this relevant and successful throughout time. "British heritage brand Hunter has managed to retain a distinguished, well-respected image without becoming an old hat." Despite this difficulty, Hunter have been able to keep their heritage title and keep their sophisticated, well-known brand at the same level throughout the years. Taken from 'skyward' website it states, "My family is British and I spent my early years in the UK, so Hunter holds a special nostalgic significance for me too. Pulling on those tall black rubber boots evokes a certain sense of pride, British people will be proud of almost anything given the opportunity, even our miserable weather." Hunter seems to have a unique known sense about it, the iconic rubber wellington boots somewhat symbolises typical British clothing and style, suited to our weather. Hunter take pride in their garments and design them so that they can be used specifically for the typical British weather throughout the whole year, rather than just the colder months.
Hunter possesses a good skill of knowing what elements to keep within the brand and what elements to let go of, being able to keep the 'heritage' label but also developing the brand.
Hunter only has two stores in the world, the stores are "designed as immersive environments that transport you to the wild outdoor landscapes of the Scottish Highlands."
LONDON STORE:
"Famous for their boots worn by everyone from Kate Moss to The Queen of England, Hunter is committed to finding new inventive ways to penetrate various consumer segments in hopes to increase their brand presence in new markets", this states that the main buyers of Hunter garments are higher class, due to their well-known heritage, quality and ethical views.
